AI Avatars

Add AI-generated video presenters to your demos with built-in or custom avatars.

AI avatars turn your demos into video walkthroughs with a virtual presenter. The avatar appears alongside your demo, narrating each step as if giving a live presentation.

Built-in avatars

Demoship includes a library of pre-built avatars. Each avatar has:

• A distinct appearance and presentation style
• Support for all voiceover languages
• Configurable positioning (left, right, bottom corner, or picture-in-picture)

Browse available avatars in Demo Editor > Avatar > Choose Avatar.

Adding an avatar to a demo

1. Open your demo in the editor.
2. Click Avatar in the toolbar.
3. Select a built-in avatar or a custom avatar.
4. Choose the avatar position and size.
5. Assign a voiceover script (or generate one with AI Voiceover).
6. Click Generate Video to render the avatar walkthrough.

The avatar is rendered as a video layer that plays alongside your demo steps.

Custom avatar training

On Full plans, you can train a custom avatar from your own video recordings:

1. Go to Settings > AI Avatars > Create Custom.
2. Upload a 2-5 minute video of the person speaking directly to camera.
3. Follow the quality guidelines (good lighting, neutral background, clear audio).
4. Training takes 15-30 minutes. You'll receive an email when it's ready.

Custom avatars support all the same positioning and language options as built-in avatars.

Note: Custom avatars are trained on appearance and mannerisms only. Voice is generated separately via AI Voiceover. To match the avatar's original voice, use the custom voice cloning feature on the Full plan.

Avatar placement options

• Corner overlay -- Small circular avatar in a corner of the demo
• Side panel -- Avatar displayed in a panel beside the demo
• Full intro/outro -- Avatar appears full-frame for introduction and closing, then minimizes during the demo
• Step-specific -- Show the avatar only on selected steps

Video generation

Avatar videos are rendered in the cloud. Generation time depends on demo length:

• Short demos (under 10 steps): 2-5 minutes
• Medium demos (10-30 steps): 5-15 minutes
• Long demos (30+ steps): 15-30 minutes

You can continue editing other demos while rendering completes.
