Editing

Use the visual editor and AI tools to modify screenshots -- edit text, blur data, swap images, and more.

The Demoship visual editor lets you modify captured screenshots without re-capturing. You can edit text, replace images, blur sensitive data, and adjust dates -- all directly on the screenshot.

Visual editor basics

Select any step in your flow to open it in the editor. The toolbar provides:

• Select -- Click elements to select them for editing.
• Text -- Edit text directly on the screenshot. Click a text element to modify its content, font size, or color.
• Blur -- Draw a rectangle over any area to apply a blur effect. Useful for hiding sensitive data, email addresses, or user avatars.
• Crop -- Adjust the visible area of the screenshot.
• Annotate -- Add arrows, shapes, or text annotations that overlay the screenshot.

AI editor

The AI editor automates repetitive edits across multiple steps at once.

Find and replace

Replace text across all steps in your flow. For example, change every instance of "Acme Corp" to {{company_name}} to prepare the demo for personalization.

1. Open AI Editor > Find & Replace.
2. Enter the search term and replacement value.
3. Preview matches across all steps.
4. Click Apply All or selectively apply per step.

Date shifting

Automatically update all dates in the demo to be relative to today. A screenshot captured on January 15 with "January 15" visible can be set to always show today's date.

Data anonymization

Select regions containing PII and apply automatic anonymization. The AI detects names, emails, phone numbers, and addresses, replacing them with realistic placeholder data.

Image swap

Replace logos, avatars, or product images across steps. Upload a replacement image and the editor matches dimensions and positioning automatically.

Undo and history

Every edit is tracked. Use Ctrl/Cmd + Z to undo, or open the History panel to jump back to any previous state.

Note: Edits are non-destructive. The original captured screenshots are preserved and can be restored at any time from the History panel.
