Scenarios
Pre-built data states and use-case templates that give each prospect a relevant sandbox experience.
Scenarios are pre-configured data states that make sandboxes immediately relevant to each prospect. Instead of an empty product, prospects land in an environment that mirrors their use case.
What is a scenario
A scenario is a combination of:
- Sample data -- Records, projects, users, and content pre-populated in the sandbox.
- Configuration -- Feature flags, settings, and integrations pre-configured.
- Starting point -- The page or view the prospect sees first.
- Guide (optional) -- An overlay that introduces the scenario and suggests what to explore.
Creating a scenario
- Go to Sandbox > Scenarios > New Scenario.
- Name the scenario and add a description (e.g., "Marketing team managing campaigns").
- Select or upload the sample data set.
- Configure the starting URL -- the first page the prospect sees.
- Optionally add a welcome guide with 3-5 suggested actions.
- Save and test.
Scenario templates by use case
Organize scenarios around how prospects evaluate your product:
- By industry -- Healthcare, fintech, e-commerce, SaaS. Each with industry-specific sample data.
- By role -- Admin, manager, individual contributor. Each with appropriate permissions and dashboards.
- By use case -- Onboarding, reporting, collaboration. Each highlighting a specific workflow.
Custom data states
For prospects who need a tailored experience:
- Clone an existing scenario.
- Modify the data set -- adjust company names, metrics, or record counts.
- Set personalization variables to match the prospect's context.
- Save as a custom scenario tied to a specific deal or account.
Managing scenarios
- Versioning -- Each scenario tracks versions. Update the data set without affecting active sandboxes.
- Usage analytics -- See which scenarios are most requested and which drive the highest engagement.
- Archiving -- Deactivate outdated scenarios without deleting them.
Note: Scenarios work with personalization variables. Use
{{company_name}}in scenario data, and it resolves to the prospect's actual company name when the sandbox launches.
